Shah Rukh Khan says his journey is similar to Mufasa from ‘The Lion King’ – Watch VIDEO | Hindi Movie News
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan draws parallels between his own life and the journey of the iconic character Mufasa in a new promotional video for ‘Mufasa: The Lion King‘. Known as the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh reflects on how Mufasa’s story of struggle, resilience, and eventual triumph resonates with his own remarkable rise to stardom. The video, which has been recently launched, shows Shah Rukh Khan narrating the tale of Mufasa, a lion who rises to greatness despite all odds being against him.
In the touching video, Shah Rukh is heard saying, “Yeh kahani hai ek aise raja ki, jise siyasat ki roshni nahin, tanhaiyon ki virasat mili. Lekin uske labon mein basaa tha uska junoon, aur usi junoon se usne zameen se uth kar aasman ko chhoo liya. Zameen par toh kai badshah hukumat karte aaye hain, aur usne raaj kiya sabhi ke dilon ka.” This means: “This is the story of a king who inherited solitude instead of the throne. Yet, he had passion so intense that it lifted him from the ground to touch the skies. Many have ruled over lands, but he ruled over everyone’s hearts.” Shah Rukh then adds that while his story might seem similar given his own rise in cinema, the tale he’s sharing is actually that of Mufasa. This collaboration comes through the highly anticipated animated film ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’, a prologue to Disney‘s 2019 remake of ‘The Lion King’.

The movie will feature Shah Rukh Khan doing the voiceover of Mufasa, the wise and benevolent lion who plays a very central role in Simba’s life. To add a touch, the sons of Shah Rukh also feature in the movie. Aryan Khan, his eldest son, has voiced Simba, while his youngest son AbRam has portrayed the character of young Mufasa. The familial collaboration brings a personal touch to this Disney production. The Hindi trailer of the film was recently released, and it showcased the special family connection.
Additionally, the Telugu-dubbed version of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ will have super-star Mahesh Babu as the voice of Mufasa, and for the Tamil version, a talented actor Arjun Das will lend his voice. This gives the film regional flavor, which shows that its appeal cuts across languages, and, of course, Shah Rukh’s universal star appeal. It is a story that would capture the heart of people, with iconic voices and familiar themes of courage, love, and legacy.
