‘Complete loser in 2020, had no compassion’: Millionaire Shark Tank judge’s fiery remarks on Kamala Harris
Kevin O’Leary, millionaire investor and “Shark Tank” judge, launched a scathing attack against US Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her a “faulty and broken candidate” after her unsuccessful bid for the Oval office, New York Post reports.
Speaking on CNN‘s ‘NewsNight’, O’Leary accused the Democratic Party of bypassing democratic process after it chose Harris as their nominee without holding a primary contest.
“They made an excuse of $317 million in the kitty. They kept the same campaign manager and said we will anoint this faulted, broken candidate who was inconsequential in her vice presidency,” he said, seemingly calling Kamala incompetent.
“Lost in 2019. As you detailed, complete loser in 2020. Never could articulate anything. Had no compassion for people and her own advocates,” he added, suggesting Harris has no regard for the American people.
O’Leary also raised questions about the Democratic Party’s internal decision-making process. In October, he mentioned reports that US representative Nancy Pelosi had urged Joe Biden to step aside, showing that there were doubts within the party about Harris’ ability to lead.
“Only 90 days ago, Pelosi went to Biden and said, ‘You need to step aside,’ and convinced him to do so,” he said. “He made the decision, and he did actually ask her, and we’ve now learned this, ‘Is she the right person to drive this home?’ He questioned that,” O’Leary added.
O’Leary expressed frustration with the Democrats’ carelessness in not conducting a formal process for candidate selection.
“Biden could have said, ‘We need to run a process in order for me to make this move,’ but they decided not to. I don’t know who ‘they’ is. Was it [Barack] Obama? Was it Pelosi? I don’t care who it was,” he said.
The “Shark Tank” star also criticised Harris’ performance on The View, saying her failure to present a clear vision separate from President Joe Biden degraded her campaign further. “She was so weak as a candidate, she couldn’t even answer that she would do something different,” O’Leary said.
“It ricocheted around the world. She was finished. They will never do that again,” he added.
