When Amitabh Bachchan was abused for his acting: ‘You feel worse because your parents…’ | Hindi Movie News
Amitabh Bachchan is called a living legend and one of the best actors our country has ever seen. But would you believe that even Bachchan has been criticised and abused at several instances, that too, for his acting chops? Yes! Big B himself had revealed that during an interview, many years ago. The actor had said how people were abusing him, but what he felt bad about was the fact that his parents were with him that time in the same car.
In an interview in 1999, with Vir Sanghvi, Big B had said, “They would put their heads inside the window of the car and be abusive about my acting abilities. You feel bad. And you feel worse because your parents are sitting behind you in your car.” Bachchan recalled feeling humiliated in that moment.
In the same interview, Bachchan had spoken about his early days of struggle in Mumbai and how he would sleep on the streets with rats. At that point, people would often tell him to leave the city, and that he was wasting his time pursuing an acting career. These comments shook him, but he never considered going away. Even during his struggle period before the 2000s, he was told the same. He had said that he would leave the industry when people don’t want him anymore.
This was a lean phase in his career when he was slowly ageing and his production house was going through severe losses. He then made a huge comeback with ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati‘ and Aditya Chopra‘s ‘Mohabbatein‘, and since then, there was no looking back.
