Homebuyer sentiment improves, says survey
NEW DELHI: Homebuyer sentiment has improved on expectations of capital appreciation and rising rental yields. The latest Magicbricks Housing Sentiment Index (HSI), based on a survey of over 2,100 customers, showed an increase from 149 to 155 between April to Sept.
There was also more confidence among homebuyers and investors within the luxury segment (properties in Rs 3.5-5 crore segment) with HSI score of 162.Investor sentiment was also robust in Noida and Greater Noida, with both recording a HSI score of 163, while cities such as Gurugram, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad had scores of 160 each. There was relatively lower sentiment in Delhi (151), Bengaluru and Mumbai (148), possibly due to rising property prices.
The report indicated an improvement in HSI for under-construction properties, from 157 in April 2024 to 161 in Sept 2024.
