Over the past 12 years, Alia Bhatt has proved her mettle as a confident and competent actor in the Hindi Film Industry. She has been one of those rare female actors who can carry a film solo on her shoulders, be it Raazi or be it Gangubai Kathiwadi. It was the success of these films that gave her the confidence to attempt Vasan Bala and Karan Johar’s Jigra. However, the film failed to find a connection with the audience, and has been struggling at the box office.

The film in the first week, earned only Rs 22.45 crore. On its second Friday, the film’s collection dropped 8 % to collect just Rs 1.15 crore from its Thursday collection of Rs 1.25 crore. But the film on Saturday, just like in the first week, showed a massive spike of over 50 % to collect Rs 1.75 crore, taking the overall collection of the film beyond Rs 25 crore mark. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 25.35 crore, the makers would be hoping that the film at least crosses Rs 30 crore, before the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Singham Again on 1st November.

Alia is currently shooting for Aditya Chopra and Shiv Rawail’s Alpha, which also stars Sharvari, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor. She has also signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. It was rumoured that the film is based on Raj Kapoor’s Sangam, but in a conversation with the Indian Chapter of The Hollywood Reporter, the director denied the claim.
