‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ gearing up for record-breaking box office opening; Allu Arjun starrer predicted to make Rs 270 crore debut worldwide |
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, the much-anticipated sequel to the Allu Arjun starrer, is predicted to set a new box office record in Indian cinema with a massive worldwide opening day collection.
Originally set to release on December 6, the film’s launch has been advanced by a day, to December 5, 2024, amidst much hype and anticipation among fans and industry watchers. According to a report on Sacnilk.com, pre-bookings for the Sukumar-directed sequel has already opened in the USA, where the response has been overwhelming, indicating a strong start in international markets.
In India, with fan frenzy at an all-time high, tickets are expected to sell out quickly once bookings open. By choosing to advance its release to Thursday, the makers have strategically positioned ‘Pushpa 2’ to enjoy a solo opening day across India. It was scheduled to clash at the box office with Vicky Kaushal‘s ‘Chhaava’ on December 6.
According to industry estimates, ‘Pushpa 2’ is poised to break records in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions, with an anticipated opening day collection of Rs 85 crore. Karnataka is expected to contribute around Rs 20 crore, followed by Tamil Nadu with Rs 12 crore and Kerala with approximately Rs 8 crore.
Nationally, the film is projected to bring in around Rs 200 crore on its first day alone.
In overseas markets, ‘Pushpa 2’ is also expected to perform exceptionally well, likely generating Rs 70 crore, which would push the film’s worldwide opening day gross to an estimated Rs270 crore. This would make ‘Pushpa 2’ the first Indian film to cross the Rs 250 crore mark globally on its opening day.
Building on the success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise‘, this sequel brings back the star-studded cast of Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, continuing the story with even more action, as it promises to deliver an electrifying cinematic experience.
