Anees Bazmee shares how Ajay Devgn and Kajol fell in love: ‘They liked each other without saying anything about it’
Filmmaker Anees Bazmee’s latest directorial venture, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘, hit theaters on November 1 and has earned over Rs 200 crore. Anees, who made his directorial debut with the Ajay Devgn and Kajol-starrer ‘Hulchul‘ in 1995, collaborated with them again for ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha‘ in 1998. Recently, he opened up about the romance between Kajol and Ajay.
In an interview with Mashable India, Anees shared his experiences working with the couple. “They fell in love, and I’m so happy they got married and have such a successful marriage. They are two very different people. Ajay is quite serious. However, that’s just how he portrays himself, he does a lot of masti too, but mostly stays calm,” he noted. Anees described Kajol as very bubbly and mischievous, saying, “I realized they liked each other without them having to say anything about it.” Reflecting on their early days of romance, he added that he is very happy for their marriage.

In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Kajol shared the story of her romance with Ajay Devgn, which began on the sets of ‘Hulchul’. Initially, both were in other relationships, but as they spent more time together, their friendship grew. Eventually, they ended their previous relationships, and their bond deepened, leading to a romance that culminated in marriage.
Ajay Devgn and Kajol tied the knot in 1999 and are now parents to daughter Nysa and son Yug.
