Aamir Khan and Suriya to shoot for 'Ghajini 2' in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously, Allu Aravind to produce 'Ghajini' sequel | Hindi Movie News

Aamir Khan is in talks with producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena about a sequel to the hit 2008 film ‘Ghajini’. Earlier reports suggest that the producers have pitched an idea to Aamir, who has requested a developed storyboard before moving forward. Meanwhile, Allu Aravind plans to produce ‘Ghajini 2‘ in Tamil with Suriya as the lead actor, and Suriya has now confirmed this in a recent conversation.
According to Pinkvilla, Suriya expressed surprise at the opportunity, saying, “After a long time, Allu Aravind came up with that idea (for the sequel) and asked if that would be possible. I said definitely, sir, we can think of it. Yes, the talk has started; things are in process. ‘Ghajini 2’ might happen.” Reports indicate that Aravind and Mantena intend to shoot both the Hindi and Tamil versions of ‘Ghajini 2’ simultaneously.
A source revealed that as films increasingly target pan-India audiences, remaking cult classics is becoming less favorable. Both Aamir and Suriya are enthusiastic about ‘Ghajini 2’ but are cautious about being labeled as a remake. They are concerned that if one version releases before the other, it might diminish the excitement for both films. To address this, Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena are considering simultaneous filming and releasing both versions on the same day.

The actors are interested in this plan but are waiting for finalized scripts before officially signing on. The sequel to the iconic film ‘Ghajini’ comes with significant responsibility, as the original was pivotal for both Aamir Khan’s and Suriya’s careers. The focus is on creating an authentic sequel that resonates with audiences rather than a cash grab. While both actors are intrigued by the concept, they are awaiting script narrations as the project develops. Currently, the scripting is in progress, and a clearer outlook on ‘Ghajini 2’ is expected by mid-2025.
