About 70-80% bomb threats on flights are from foreign locations: MoS for civil aviation
Speaking exclusively to CNBC-TV18, minister Murlidhar Mohol revealed that the majority of these bomb threats originate from overseas.
“At least 70-80 percent of the bomb threats are found to be from abroad,” the minister said, adding that the state police are investigating those threats posted from domestic locations.
Mohol emphasised the importance of following safety protocols while acknowledging the necessity of minimizing passenger inconvenience.
“We are committed to ensuring that safety measures are effective but also strive to reduce any disruption to travelers,” he stated.
The minister reassured that, apart from BCAS and IB, all relevant agencies are being brought in to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
“Concerned agencies are being involved as needed to support the investigations,” the minister said.
