Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, may have her personal life being put under the scanner, but that has not stopped her from lending her voice to an empowering cause.
The actress, who is the face of an international beauty brand, joined the cause by issuing public service announcement (PSA) tackling street harassment. The video, part of the brand’s social campaign, features Aishwarya advising young girls to confront harassment with confidence.
“Street Harassment.How do you deal with it? Avoid eye contact? No!” Ash says in the video. “Look the problem directly in the eyes, hold your head high. Feminine and feminist. My body, my worth, never compromise your worth. Do not doubt yourself. Stand up for your worth. Don’t blame your dress or your lipstick. Street harassment is never your fault.”

This ad comes amid swirling rumours about Aishwarya’s marriage to actor Abhishek Bachchan. Speculation of an impending divorce began after the actress and daughter Aaradhya arrived separately from the Bachchan family at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in July. The rumours intensified when Abhishek liked an Instagram post about divorce titled When Love Stops Being Easy.

In response, Amitabh Bachchan addressed the ongoing speculation in a blog post that read, “I rarely say much about family, because that is my domain, and its privacy is maintained by me. Speculations are speculations. They are speculated untruths, without verifications.”

While neither Aishwarya nor Abhishek has directly commented on the rumours.
