Avenue Supermarts completes acquisition of 26% stake in FP Ampere Energy

Avenue Supermarts Ltd, which owns and operates retail chain D-Mart, on Saturday (October 26) said it has completed the acquisition of a 26% stake in FP Ampere Energy Private Ltd (FPAEPL), a subsidiary of Fourth Partner Energy Private Limited, for ₹1.99 crore.

The transaction follows Avenue Supermarts’ initial disclosure on October 7, 2024, announcing the execution of transaction documents for the deal. With this acquisition finalized, FP Ampere Energy Private FPAEPL has become an associate company of Avenue Supermarts.

Avenue Supermarts witnessed a 14.2% year-on-year increase in its standalone revenue at ₹14,050 crore for the July to September 2024 quarter, according to the firm’s exchange filing on October 12. This compares to ₹12,308 crore in the same period last year.

The net profit for the second quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal stood at ₹710 crore, a 7.9% increase from ₹659 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. The PAT margin came in at 5.0% in Q2FY25 as compared to 5.3% in Q2FY24.

DMart parent’s earnings before Interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in Q2FY25 was reported at ₹1,105 crore, as compared to ₹1,002 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. EBITDA margin stood at 7.9% in Q2FY25 as compared to 8.1% in Q2FY24.

Avenue Supermarts also reported that its total revenue for the first six months of FY25 has risen to ₹27,762 crore, as compared to ₹23,892 crore in the same period last year. EBITDA in H1FY25 stood at ₹2,326 crore, the firm said in its exchange filing.

On October 25, shares of Avenue Supermarts Ltd ended at ₹4,044.50, up by ₹14.80, or 0.36% on the BSE.
