GMR Airports Business Update | 9% growth in October passenger traffic with nearly 11 million travellers

GMR Airports Ltd on Monday (November 18) reported growth in October 2024, handling over 10.7 million passengers, marking a 9.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase. This includes 9.2% YoY growth in both domestic and international traffic. Sustained traffic levels exceeding 10 million passengers per month have been recorded since December 2023. Aircraft movements rose 9% YoY and 7% month-on-month to 71,598.

In YTD (year to date) FY25, GMR Airports achieved its highest-ever passenger traffic of 74 million and aircraft movements of 0.48 million. Cargo handling also reached record levels, with 0.65 million tonnes handled, up 14.8% YoY. Over one lakh tonnes of cargo have been processed monthly since September 2024.

Hyderabad Airport

Hyderabad Airport achieved a milestone in October 2024, handling 2.4 million passengers, a 21.7% YoY increase. Domestic traffic grew by 22.7%, while international traffic increased by 16.3%.

The airport recorded its highest single-day passenger traffic of 0.87 lakh on October 14 and the highest single-day aircraft movements of 583 on October 20. Monthly passenger traffic has consistently surpassed two million since October 2023.

Delhi Airport

Delhi Airport recorded 39,000 aircraft movements in October 2024, the highest in five years, contributing significantly to the network-wide growth.

Mopa (Goa) Airport

Mopa Airport handled 0.35 million passengers in October 2024, bringing the YTD FY25 total to 2.5 million, up 13.1% YoY. Domestic traffic increased by 9.7%, while international traffic surged 386.2% YoY following the start of international operations in July 2023.

The airport completed expansion works, increasing passenger capacity from 4.4 million to approximately 7.7 million annually. New apron stands, aerobridges, and baggage handling systems became operational in October, enhancing infrastructure capabilities.

Shares of GMR Airports Ltd ended at ₹78.02, up by ₹1.22, or 1.59%, on the BSE.
