Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja shares health update while spotted with daughter Tina Ahuja: 'Unko rest karne bola hai isliye iss saal Diwali wo nahi mana rahe'

Govinda was discharged from CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai after being treated for an accidental gunshot wound sustained at home last month. The 60-year-old actor-turned-politician’s licensed gun misfired when he dropped it while placing it in an almirah, resulting in a leg injury. Following several days of medical care, he is now recovering.
His wife, Sunita Ahuja, provided an update on his health while spotted with their daughter, Tina Ahuja, outside a building. Both women looked stunning in ethnic attire, Sunita in an embellished black sharara and Tina in a pink and grey sequinned saree. In response to a paparazzo’s inquiry about Govinda’s condition, Sunita stated, “Sir ekdam thik hai. Unko rest karne bola hai isliye iss saal Diwali wo nahi mana rahe. Toh sirf main bacchon ke saath Diwali mana rahi hun (Sir is doing good. He has been advised to take rest, which is why he isn’t celebrating Diwali this year. I am celebrating Diwali with our kids).”

Yashvardhan Ahuja, Govinda’s son, also spoke to the media at a recent Diwali party, reassuring fans that his father was doing well and that the stitches from the surgery had been removed. He humorously added, “Mast, ab ek do hafto mein dance bhi karna chalu kar lenge (He’ll start dancing in some time).”

Reflecting on the incident, Govinda shared details during a press conference, revealing he was alone when the gun misfired early in the morning while preparing to travel to Kolkata. “Woh giri aur chal padi (the revolver fell and misfired). I felt a jhatka (I was shocked) and then saw… there was a fountain (of blood). I thought I should not associate this incident with anyone else and trouble them, so I shot some videos and was then rushed to Dr. Agarwal. He came with us and took me to CritiCare hospital,” he had recalled.
