Abhishek Bachchan’s latest release, ‘I Want To Talk’, is facing challenges at the box office, struggling to gain momentum during its opening week.
Over five days, the film has managed to collect an estimated Rs 1.7 crore nett in India. The film, directed by Shoojit Sircar, began its theatrical run with a modest Rs 25 lakh on Friday. While Saturday brought some hope with Rs 55 lakh, and Sunday added an estimated Rs 53 lakh, the numbers dropped significantly on Monday, earning just Rs 17 lakh. Tuesday’s collection of Rs 20 lakh further highlighted the film’s struggle to connect with a wider audience.
‘I Want To Talk’ sees Abhishek playing the lead, grappling with deep internal conflicts. Despite the film’s lacklustre box office performance, it has received appreciation for its content and Abhishek’s performance.Director Sircar recently discussed the film at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Sharing his thoughts, Sircar told ANI, “I Want To Talk is a film beyond words. It’s about the emotions you feel while watching it.”
He also lauded his leading man’s portrayal, adding, “Abhishek is receiving so much appreciation. People are talking so much about him.”

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan also expressed pride in his son’s work. Writing on his blog, he shared, “I smile today with pride and great emotion for my son Abhishek and his work. It brings tremendous joy and admiration to see him receiving such appreciation.”
The Bachchan starrer clashed at the Indian box office with the Hollywood musical ‘Wicked’. Both movies have earned similar collections at the box office. ‘Wicked’ has a current India nett collection of Rs 1.34 crore.
