Infosys hiring 2024: Headcount jumps by 2,456 employees in Sept quarter, the first time in seven quarters

India’s second largest IT services firm Infosys saw a net addition of 2,456 employees in the July to September 2024 quarter, according to the firm’s Q2 earnings statement. This compares to a net decline of 1,908 staffers in the preceding quarter.

This takes Infosys’ total headcount to 317,788 from 315,332 at the end of the previous quarter. This is first time in seven quarters that the firm has witnessed an increased in its total strength seventh. For the past six consecutive quarters, it was seeing a net reduction in the total number of employees.

Meanwhile, the attrition rate, a gradual reduction in workforce without firing or layoff of personnel as when workers resign or retire and are not replaced, at Infosys has increased marginally from 12.7% in the June 2024 ended quarter to 12.9% in the June 2024 ended quarter.

It must be noted that Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka had previously said that the company is looking to hire up to 20,000 freshers this year, depending on the company’s growth.

Meanwhile, the technology services bellweather said that it expects constant currency revenue growth between 3.75% to 4.5% in constant currency terms for financial year 2025, which is higher than its earlier guidance of 3% to 4%. For the full year, Infosys has maintained its margin guidance. It expects EBIT margins for financial year 2025 to be between 20% to 22%.

Infosys reported constant currency revenue growth of 3.1% during the September quarter, slightly higher than the estimates of 3% on a sequential basis.
