Kangana Ranaut pens a cryptic post on 'destroying women-centric cinema' amid Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra's slow box office start |

Kangana Ranaut recently posted a cryptic note on her Instagram story. She discussed the downfall of ‘women-centric cinema‘ and why it struggles to perform well at the box office.
Check out her post here:

Kangana captioned her post as, “When you destroy women-centric films and make sure that they don’t work, they don’t work, even when you make them. Read that again.Thanks.”
Though Kangana didn’t mention anyone specifically, her post could be aimed at Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra. The movie had a modest start at the box office, with reports from Sacnilk stating it earned around Rs 3.58 crore (net) on its first day across all languages in India.

In the past, Kangana also criticised Alia’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi‘ before its release. She commented on the film’s casting and predicted that it would perform poorly at the box office, expressing her belief that Bollywood’s future looked bleak as long as certain influential figures held power in the industry.

In Jigra, Alia Bhatt portrays Satya Anand, a determined young woman fighting to save her brother, Ankur Anand, who is being tortured in a foreign prison. After Ankur is sentenced to death, Satya vows to rescue him and break him out of the jail, showcasing her relentless determination.
