King Charles and Queen Camilla set to embark on journey to India: Report | World News

King Charles plans to embark on a significant South Asian tour, encompassing India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, whilst continuing his recovery from cancer.
Buckingham Palace has established extensive plans for the monarch to resume comprehensive international travel in the coming year, pending medical guidance, following his successful visit to Australia and Samoa in October.
The monarch’s previous plans to visit the region were cancelled in 2022 following the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September of that year.
According to the Mirror’s source, “It’s hugely encouraging to be able to make such plans for the King and Queen given the year the monarch has had, but it’s very much full steam ahead. A tour of the Indian subcontinent is in the offing, which will be of huge political and cultural significance for Britain on the world stage. The King and Queen are the perfect ambassadors at such a time.”
The foreign office has initiated discussions with the respective nations after receiving approval for the tour proposal.
The 76-year-old sovereign, currently undergoing treatment, reportedly felt invigorated by his abbreviated 11-day South Pacific journey, during which he participated in approximately ten engagements daily.
This journey marked His Majesty’s first overseas visit to a realm where he serves as Head of State, and to a Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) as the organisation’s leader.
A senior palace representative informed GB News: “We’re now working on a pretty normal-looking full overseas tour program for next year, which is a high for us to end on, to know that we can be thinking in those terms.”
