Hitting the big screens on September 12, during the Onam season, Asif Ali and Dinjith Ayyathan’s ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ received highly positive reviews from the audiences especially for its gripping screenplay and magnificent performances.
Having close resemblances to Christopher Nolan’s ‘Memento’ and the Hollywood film ‘Remember Me’, ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is surely a unique psychological thriller in Mollywood.
Starring Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan, and Aparna Balamurali in the lead, ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ tells a unique mystery story revolving around a monkey-inhabited Kallepathi reserve forest, and the chain of events kickstarts when a gun goes missing.
With a well-packed narrative and an apt climax, ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ received praise from the viewers. Asif Ali played the character named Ajay Chandran and Vijayaraghavan stepped into the role of an ex-military officer named Appu Pillai.
ETimes review for ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ read, “The screenplay cleverly offers clues that keep viewers intrigued, revealing key details gradually. Technically, the film excels with its atmospheric setting and sound design. The forest and its monkeys symbolise the raw and untamed emotions of the characters. Mujeeb Majeed’s score intensifies critical moments, and Sooraj ES’s editing maintains engagement even during the film’s slower segments. The screenplay cleverly offers clues that keep viewers intrigued, revealing key details gradually.”
Meanwhile, Asif Ali’s previous outing was with the Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer ‘Adios Amigo’.
