KS Chithra recently shared how Lata Mangeshkar‘s comforting words helped her cope during the challenging period after the loss of her daughter.
In an emotional interview with O2India, Chithra recalled how Lata Mangeshkar reached out to her several times. She fondly remembered dedicating an album to Lata ji on her 80th birthday, an act the legendary singer truly appreciated. Chithra reflected, “Lata ji is a part of every female singer, as we grew up listening to her.”
Chithra shared a significant moment when Lata Mangeshkar offered her support during a period of intense grief. After the tragic loss of her daughter, Chithra had withdrawn from public life and declined an award in Lata ji’s honor. However, Lata ji reached out to her, acknowledging her pain and encouraging her to focus on music. She reassured Chithra that she should not isolate herself and even promised to attend the ceremony, which ultimately convinced Chithra to attend and receive the award.
