Mumbai: Thirty-five-year-old Satish Patil from Satpati in Palghar district allegedly killed his younger brother, Chandrakant, with a chopper. The attack stemmed from a disagreement over house repairs, and police arrested the absconding accused. According to Satpati police, the brothers, who lived with their mother in Mahim village, had a strained relationship. The conflict escalated during a heated argument about financial responsibility for repairs to their mother’s house.
During the confrontation, Satish armed himself with a chopper and advanced toward Chandrakant, 33. When their mother attempted to stop the attack, Satish threatened her, forcing her to retreat. He then inflicted fatal wounds to Chandrakant’s neck and back before running away. Chandrakant died immediately.
Local residents alerted police after hearing screams. After police sent the body for autopsy, they located and arrested Satish in a nearby field, recovered the weapon, and charged him with murder.
