MCG Owes Firm Rs 6.8 Crore, Construction Waste Plant Operations Disrupted, ET RealEstate
GURUGRAM: The construction and demolition (C&D) waste management concessionaire, which is operating the Basai waste plant, asked MCG to release its pending payment of Rs 6.8 crore. The company claimed non-payment of dues hindered efficient processing of construction waste at the facility.
In a meeting of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) department held recently, MCG officials have been asked to look at the dues, and the company has been told to submit details on the outstanding amount.
“We wrote to MCG to release dues of Rs 6.8 crore which the corporation owes to us. This affects our operations since we are facing a financial crunch. We couldn’t pay salaries, due to which the processing of construction waste was delayed. This also resulted in a space crunch at the plant,” said a representative of the firm managing Basai C&D waste plant.
An MCG official said, “The issue was also discussed in a ULB meeting in which the amount mentioned was around Rs 8.5 crore. However, a certain part of the payment will be released in a few days.”
