Mrunal Thakur speaks out against photoshopped Diwali image; ''It's not cool".....'deletes post later | Hindi Movie News

Actor Mrunal Thakur recently vented her frustration over a Photoshopped Diwali picture. A fan, including her in his post for celebrating this festival. Here in this Photoshopped image, the fan can be seen showing himself lit the firework while sitting alongside Mrunal had one of his arms hanging casually over her. Captured in the Instagram post, captioned with: “Diwali Photo Editing. Bollywood Actress Photoshoot.”

Mrunal did not crumble words in her response, stating, “Bhai kyu jhooti tassali de rahe hain aap apne aap ko? Aapko lagta hain ki aap yeh Jo kar rahe hain yeh cool hain? Ji nahi!” She said this translates to, “Why are you giving yourself false reassurance? Do you really think that what you’re doing is cool? No, it’s not!” Her reaction goes on to show her dedication to setting boundaries and not liking how some fans describe celebrities. However, later the actress deleted the poost, and wrote, “Yaar guys, aap log bachche ki jaan logey kya? Maine woh comment kar diya. Pehle jab maine dekha main khush hui. I was like, chal kisi aur ke saath na sahi inke saath hi main Diwali toh mana rahi hoon. (Guys, please stop? I just made a comment… at first, when I saw the video I was happy that at least I am spending my Diwali with him)! I opened his page and I saw that he has edited his video with each and every actress! My heart was broken. I was so sad. But I really love his editing skills and I really pray and hope that he uses his art for the right thing. But please don’t say bad things to him. His intention was maybe not bad. I just hope woh aur logon ka dil na tode (I hope he does not break more hearts)!”
This is not the first time Mrunal has spoken up against digital manipulation, particularly when targeting female celebrities. Earlier, she had condemned deepfake videos that target women. Mrunal voiced her outrage on Instagram after a deepfake video of fellow actress Rashmika Mandanna emerged. She said, “Shame on people who are doing such things. Such people have no conscience in them at all, literally.” She appreciated that Rashmika spoke to one of the most glaring concerns that many people brush away. “Every single day, morphed and edited videos of female stars fill up inappropriate body parts. Where are we taking the community, the society, ” she asked.

Mrunal underlined the need to speak out against such violations, saying, “We may be actresses in the ‘limelight,’ but at the end of the day, each one of us is human. Why aren’t we talking about it? Don’t remain silent; now is not the time.” Currently, Mrunal can be seen in the Telugu drama ‘The Family Star’, and she is soon going to feature in another upcoming project called ‘Son of Sardar 2’. The bold stand taken by her continues to fight for respect and dignity of all people, especially the women in the entertainment world, forcing fans and the community to introspect their actions.
