Sanjay Kapoor on growing up with siblings Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor in two-bedroom-hall apartment in Chembur: 'We’d sleep on mattresses in the living room' | Hindi Movie News

Actor Sanjay Kapoor recently took a nostalgic look back at his childhood, sharing stories of growing up with his siblings, Anil and Boney Kapoor, in a modest two-bedroom apartment in Chembur, Mumbai. Despite the Kapoor family’s renowned success and current status as one of Bollywood‘s iconic households, Sanjay revealed that life wasn’t always so luxurious.
Reflecting on those simpler times, Sanjay recounted how he shared a room with his sister, Reena Kapoor, until their grandfather moved in following their grandmother’s passing.
In a chat on the YouTube channel Timeout With Ankit, Sanjay shared, “We lived in a two-bedroom-hall apartment in Chembur. After my grandfather came to stay with us, he took over the room I shared with Reena. We’d sleep on mattresses in the living room. We only had one AC in the house, which was in my mom and dad’s room, so sometimes I’d sleep on the sofa in their room at night.”
Sanjay also praised his parents for their unwavering dedication to their children’s future, explaining how they prioritized family needs and values over their own comforts. “My parents didn’t travel abroad until they had sent the whole family overseas first. They ensured we had the best education and the most delicious food,” he added, fondly remembering the excitement of friends who looked forward to meals at the Kapoor household.
On the work front, Sanjay Kapoor was last seen in Homi Adajania’s ‘Murder Mubarak’, starring Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Karisma Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi among others.
