Shah Rukh Khan death threat row: Accused sourced online to get sensitive security details of the actor and his family; tracked his movements |
Raipur-based lawyer Faizan Khan, who was arrested for sending extortion and death threats to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, had searched online to find sensitive security information about the actor and his family, investigations have found.
Before sending the death threat and demanding Rs 50 lakh in extortion, Faizan had conducted thorough online searches to gather security details and information about the movements of Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan.
This information was discovered through a forensic analysis of Faizan’s second mobile phone, which was recovered by the Bandra Police investigation team. The lawyer remains in judicial custody for the next ten days.
The accused has been providing evasive and misleading answers regarding the reasons for gathering information on the security setup of the VIP father-son duo, Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan, who are given Y-Plus level protection.
On November 7, Faizan caused alarm when he made a threatening call to the Bandra Police Station landline, prompting the police to register a case against an unknown individual. In the call, Khan allegedly asked the officer if Shah Rukh Khan, who lives in ‘Mannat,’ would pay Rs 50 lakh, or he would kill him. When asked for his identity, Khan responded, “My name is Hindustani,” before disconnecting the call.
The police quickly took action, traced the call to Raipur, and with the help of local authorities and tech intelligence, identified Faizan Khan. He was arrested by a Mumbai Police team on November 12 and brought in for questioning.
The accused, Faizan Khan, was presented in court, which remanded him to police custody until November 18. Afterward, he was placed in judicial custody for 14 days.
