Shah Rukh Khan reveals his future plans, wants to do comedy roles after action blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan | Hindi Movie News



Shah Rukh Khan took a four-year break from acting after his 2018 film Zero, directed by Aanand L Rai, failed at the box office. He made a stunning comeback in 2023 with Pathaan, where he reinvented himself as an action hero. The same year, SRK also headlined Jawan, directed by Atlee. Now, after fulfilling his dream of working in action-packed films, SRK has revealed his plans for the future and they involve stepping into comedy.
In a recent episode of the podcast Locarno Meets, Shah Rukh Khan shared that he is keen on doing a comedy film after his action run in Pathaan and Jawan.The megastar expressed his satisfaction with living his action-hero dream and hinted at wanting a change of pace. “I was really happy that after 30 years of working in the film industry, I got to live my dream of doing an action film. Maybe after six months, I would like to do comedy, a little gentle film,” SRK remarked during the podcast.
He also jokingly added that he’s waiting for someone to write a comedy film and offer it to him. SRK has previously shown his comedic chops in films like Baadshah, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Chennai Express, and Happy New Year, so fans are excited to see him return to this genre.

In August, Shah Rukh Khan was honored with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.

On the work front, after Dunki in 2023, where he starred opposite Taapsee Pannu under the direction of Rajkumar Hirani, SRK is now gearing up for King, an action thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film also stars his daughter Suhana Khan, alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma, and is set for an Eid 2026 release, produced by Siddharth Anand.
