In Google’s year-end analytics, it was revealed that ‘Jawan,’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan, emerged as the top-searched Indian film within the local searches for 2023.
In a year overshadowed by the Barbenhemier phenomenon, it stood as the third most trending search globally. Gadar 2 and Pathaan also claimed top positions as both local and worldwide trending films on Google.
The romantic track “Kesariya” from the movie Brahmastra, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, secured the second position as the globally favoured song for people who ‘hummed to search.’ In India, actor Kiara Advani dominated the trending people list and also earned a place in the top trending global actors list. Additionally, Oppenheimer took the lead in international entertainment searches within India.
‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Pathaan’ claimed top positions as highly trending films globally and locally, whereas the Shahid Kapoor-starrer ‘Farzi’ dominated the streaming charts, according to Google.
