Sydney Wilson BLM: Bodycam footage of 6-ft tall Sydney Wilson with knife has Internet divided: Here's what happened

Sydney Wilson, a 33-year-old, trained mental health specialist was fatally shot by Virginia cop Peter Liu after the cop was charged by the woman with a knife. The incident took place on September 16 but now the bodycam footage has been released by the cop. It shows how Wilson brandished her knife when Liu knocked on her door. According to reports, the cops were called to carry out a welfare check on her.Wilson then stabbed the officer in the face which prompted him to open fire, cops said. The attacker was shot three times before she collapsed to the floor, the shocking video shows. Wilson was pronounced dead after being rushed to a nearby hospital, police said. The officer was treated in the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
What is the debate?
Sydney Wilson started to become the next George Floyd and Black Lives Matter (BLM) symbol on X but X’s Community Notes added the context that she attacked the cop first. Elon Musk claimed X feature saved the BLM hoax from spreading.
The debate is over whether Sydney Wilson was killed unjustly. “BLM claimed that Sydney Wilson was unjustly killed by racist cops. Here’s the body cam footage — judge for yourself,” one user wrote,
“Police bodycams are the worst thing that ever happened to the BLM movement,” another wrote.

“Racist cop refuses to allow black woman to murder him,” a satire website headlined the news like this.
“If you see the name “Sydney Wilson” in connection with “killed by racist cop” I suggest you look at the bodycam that’s been released. She was swinging a butcher knife at a cop knocking on her door as soon as she opened it. He retreated, she advanced. Took 5 shots to stop her,” another wrote.
Sydney Wilson was a former Georgetown University basketball player. She was a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The X added the community note to Georgetown Women’s basketball’s post in which they mourned the tragic loss of Wilson.
