Rajinikanth-Amitabh Bachchan’s film Vettaiyan has been one of the films fans have been eagerly awaiting. It portrays two of the most towering and legendary actors together after 33 years. However, the film’s earnings declined on the first day of the second week.
According to a report by Sacnilk, the investigative thriller film made over Rs 3.15 crore on the second Thursday, as per the early estimates.This brings the total earnings of the film to over Rs 122.10 crore in India, including all languages.

‘Vettaiyan’ recorded an overall 16.79%. Tamil occupancy, with morning shows at 13.94%, afternoon shows at 16.01%, evening shows at 18.27% and 18.95% night shows. It also had an overall occupancy of 14.40% in Telugu.
The film had a towering success at the box office upon its release. On the weekends it made a huge business of over Rs 104.7 crore, hitting the 100 crore milestone. Later during the weekends, the film saw a shocking dip making only Rs 5.6 crore on Monday, and Rs 4.3 each on Tuesday and Wednesday. The film now on Thursday collected 3.15 crore.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, ‘Vettaiyan’ revolves around an investigative plot, finding the truths about a drug cartel. A government teacher encounters a drug trade and informs the police. This information leads the investigation further to uncover the hidden truths about the crime world.
In the film, Rajinikanth looks like a fierce officer who is known for being an encounter specialist and has an aggressive approach towards crime. Amitabh Bachchan plays a justice who is against Rajini’s methods and believes in the legal procedures.
