‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ box office collection day 5: The Rajkummar Rao starrer slowly inches towards Rs 25 crore, performs better than Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ | Hindi Movie News

‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘ is a comedy starring Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Mallika Sherawat among others. The movie has released after the success of ‘Stree 2‘, hence, there was expectations but if one moves away from that, the film has done a decent business at the box office so far. ‘Vicky Vidya….’ has released with Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Jigra‘ and has been having an edge over it, since that one is more niche, a film that’s working more at multiplexes.
After having a decent opening weekend of Rs 18 crore (Friday, Saturday, Sunday numbers), the film saw a drop of around 30 percent on Monday and made Rs 2.4 crore. The Sunday number was around Rs 6 crore. Since Monday, it has been in the same range even on Tuesday. On Day 5, the film minted Rs 2.15 crore.
Meanwhile, ‘Jigra’ made Rs 1.6 crore on Tuesday. According to trade, what hampered the footfalls for ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ is the film’s tittle. Many people in smaller cities thought, it’s not a film to watch with the whole family and kids. Hence, the footfalls were low, despite this being a more massy film than ‘Jigra’. Moreover, both the movies were hugely affected by the Navratri fever, and hence, did not even get any benefit from the Dussehra holiday.
At the moment, both these movies are struggling but there’s no major competition for them, till ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ release this Diwali.
