Watch: IDF uncovers underground shaft, captures Hezbollah terrorist
As the war with Hezabollah rages on, the Israeli military has said they discovered an underground tunnel shaft inside a building and captured a Hezbollah terrorist.
According to the IDF, troops identified a tunnel shaft inside a building leading to a 50-square-meter room some seven meters underground. The terror operative was hunkered down in the bunker, which also held weapons and supplies for an extended stay underground.
“During IDF operations in southern Lebanon, forces discovered an underground tunnel shaft inside a building and captured a Hezbollah terrorist. The troops surrounded the building, found the tunnel entrance, and uncovered a hidden underground complex about 7 meters deep, spanning 50 meters, equipped for an extended stay,” the Israel War Room said in a post on X.
“Inside, the terrorist was found with weapons and supplies. After the terrorist surrendered, IDF soldiers interrogated him on-site before transferring him to a detention facility for further questioning,” it added.
Video shows IDF troops instructing the Hezbollah fighter in Arabic to climb slowly out of the bunker, wearing only his underwear and shoes.
According to the IDF, the operative was taken to a detention facility inside of Israel for interrogation.
