NEW DELHI: Vaibhav Suryavanshi has etched his name in IPL history by becoming the youngest crorepati in the league’s history. The promising young talent was sold to Rajasthan Royals for a staggering Rs 1.1 crore from his base price of Rs 30 Lakh at the IPL 2025 auction.
RR made the first move for Vaibhav, followed closely by Delhi Capitals. As the bidding intensified, the price quickly surpassed the Rs 1 crore mark.DC hesitated at Rs 1.10 crore but ultimately decided to back out, allowing Royals to secure the young talent for Rs 1.10 crore.

Vaibhav rose to prominence when he played in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy for Bihar at the age of 12, accumulating around 400 runs in just five matches.
Herecently grabbed attention by becoming the youngest batter to score an international century. He achieved this milestone in a Youth Test for India Under-19 against Australia U-19 in Chennai, smashing 104 off 62 balls.
His 58-ball century was the fastest by an Indian in Youth Tests and the second-fastest globally.
Vaibhav, who was picked for the India B U-19 team for the Under-19 quadrangular series in Mulapadu, Andhra Pradesh, in November 2023, continued to make strides in his young career.

The series, which also featured India A, Bangladesh, and England U-19 teams, served as a trial for the ICC U-19 World Cup 2024. Opening the innings, Vaibhav scored 41 against England, a duck against Bangladesh, and eight against India A, but fell short of securing a spot in the final squad.
However, the talented youngster quickly bounced back, catching the eye of Bihar selectors during a U-23 selection camp, earning a place in the state’s Ranji Trophy squad.
In January 2024, he made his first-class debut for Bihar in a Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match against a formidable Mumbai side in Patna.
At just 12 years and 284 days old, Vaibhav became the youngest Indian to debut in first-class cricket since 1986 and the second-youngest ever to play in the Ranji Trophy for Bihar, marking another remarkable milestone in his promising career.
