Actor Shahid Kapoor, who collaborated with ace filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj for movies like ‘Haider‘, ‘Kaminey‘ and ‘Rangoon’, is set to begin filming his yet-untitled action thriller with Triptii Dimri this December.
As per the latest report by Mid-Day, Shahid’s role will be based on the notorious gangster Hussain Ustara, who had a fierce rivalry with Dawood Ibrahim.
The report stated that to prepare for his challenging role, Shahid Kapoor has begun intense combat training essential for the action-packed sequences that will characterize his character.Additionally, it emphasized the importance of understanding the mental makeup of a character like Ustara. It was mentioned that Vishal Bhardwaj has been guiding him as he explores Ustara’s motivations, emotions, and internal struggles.
The report also revealed that Shahid Kapoor is concentrating on the physical and psychological aspects of Ustara, Triptii Dimri, the film’s leading lady, is also diligently preparing for her role. She has reportedly started workshops that focus on themes of revenge.
According to the report, Triptii’s role is vital to the narrative, and her preparation involves immersing herself in the mindset of a character motivated by vengeance. Both actors are currently preparing individually and will begin joint rehearsals as the shooting date approaches.
Besides this, Shahid Kapoor is set to star in ‘Deva,’ directed by Rosshan Andrrews, alongside Pooja Hegde. This film is scheduled for release on February 14, 2025. Apart from this, he will also appear in ‘Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues.’ The project’s specifics have been kept secret.
