Zayed Khan reveals Shah Rukh Khan asked him – “Can you act?” during the narration of ‘Main Hoon Na’ |

Actor Zayed Khan Khan worked in several movies during the 2000s. One of his best and most memorable roles was in the movie ‘Main Hoon Na,’ which was released in 2004. In the respective film, he played the second lead, the younger brother of Shah Rukh Khan’s character. In addition to them, Sushmita Sen and Amrita Rao played pivotal roles. Recently, walking down memory lane, Zayed Khan recalled how he became a part of ‘Main Hoon Na.’ And while strolling down memory lane the actor also recounted a question by Shah Rukh Khan that made him furious.
During a conversation on Couple of Things, Zayed revealed that he had called director Farah Khan for something (not related to ‘Main Hoon Na’ casting). Upon receiving his call, Farah asked him to meet her at Shah Rukh Khan’s office. Zayed was confused as to why was he called to SRK’s office but Farah simply asked him to be quiet. The ‘Dus’ actor found it rude but he maintained his cool and went to the decided place.
As Shah Rukh entered the office, he was all things sweet. They started narrating the story of the movie to Zayed, but he had no clue what was happening. Then Shah Rukh Khan explained to him, “He says that we have called you about the second lead part in Main Hoon Na. I couldn’t say anything, so he goes, ‘yeh sab idhar udhar ki baatein band karte hain. I just want to ask one question: ‘Kya tum actor ho? Acting kar sakte ho?’ Mujhe bada bura laga ki aise mujhse kisine aise baat kia. Maine bola, I was born to act. (Are you an actor? Can you act? I felt bad as no one talked to me like this ever. I replied I was born to act)”
Despite all such hurdles, Zayed’s character Lucky was highly praised and to date is remembered by his fans.
